All our pasta, pizzas, meat and fish dishes are freshly prepared and cooked to traditional home made Italian recipes.

It is thought that the Crypt under the restaurant dates back to the eleventh century and was probably part of the then extensive complex of monastic buildings covering the area between the Cathedral and St. Andrew's Hall.

In 1995, after working in some of the most prestigious restaurants in Italy, Mario and Raffaella renamed the restaurant "Trattoria Rustica" thus uniting some of the best British archietcture to the best of Italian cuisine.
